Customer Reviews"Incredible! Love this tv!"

Review By Stephen A. Bjork (Carlsbad, CA)

Incredible! I read so much about LCD and visited many retailers that had this product and the competing products. So in the showroom I got to see the pictures side by side. It was very apparent immediately that the Samsung picture was far superior to all of the other LCD TVs in its class. I thought perhaps it had something to do with the signal or the settings of the television so I was a little skeptical. To my delight, the TV was everything that I hoped for. First of all the picture is outstanding. The blacks are dark black the whites are pure white and all of the colors same as vivid as reality. Since it has a built in QAM tuner, I was able to plug it in to my coaxial cable from my wall and tune 100 stations including the high definition channels. Setup was easy by choosing the automatic option and it found all of the stations at once. Even the standard definition stations looked far superior than they did on my old set. Since this TV was specifically for my bedroom where I had no cable box I promptly ordered a set top box to receive high definition broadcasts . It is truly amazing, of the picture is much better than my 46 inch living room LCD by a different manufacturer. Noticeably superior. The only negative I can say about this TV is that the speakers are very mediocre, but in so much that this is a 1080p flat panel it is presumed that you will hook it up to an exterior sound device. So you should. The picture quality is stunning from corner to corner; if you will be amazed. I am so pleased with this purchase. As you can see in the other reviews the TV has all the hookups that you can imagine. Three HDMI, component, and coaxial. It has an exterior digital output options, but lacks USB and film card inputs. No big deal. I have connected this TV to my PC of via and HDMI cable and can watch bluRay movies that play on my PC. I cannot imagine a single thing that I would add to this TV if I designed it myself. Read more reviews
"Very Pleased"

Review By Russell Foss

I ordered this TV for my Mom a couple of weeks before Christmas. At the time, the Amazon price was $100 less than local retailers. My biggest concern was the firmware upgrade, so I made sure I had everything ready by downloading the upgrade myself from Sony. I called Sony customer service to find out how to check which firmware version was installed so that I could determine if the update was necessary at all. The TV had not even been delivered yet, but Sony support was very nice and told me where to find the information in the television setup menu. Delivery was uneventful via FedEx and arrived on time. I ALMOST did not even consider this televsion when I read another reviewer's comments concerning the side connections. Luckily, I was able to find a display locally and determine it was NOT an issue at all for any that may be concerned. I used all 4 HDMI ports, including the 3 on the side. The cables can be snugly fit behind the televsion frame so that they are not visible. The television had a recent manufacture date of November 2009, and was already upgraded to the latest firmware at the factory. The picture was out of the box beautiful. Blu-Rays, DVD's, and HDTV (comcast) are jaw dropping gorgeous. It looks better than my 40" Sony KDL-40V2500 that I have been very pleased with as well. My mom loves this little XBR and I am very pleased. When it's time to upgrade my 40", I'm going for the XBR line. Read more reviews
"Great TV for a great price"

Review By A. Velasco (Orlando, Florida United States)

I was looking for my first HDTV to place in my bedroom and this one seemed to fit the bill. There were a lot of complaints about weak sound, but I decided to take the plunge anyway. It was definitely the right decision.

I also don't think that the sound issue is as bad as some reviewers have made it to be. I rarely raise the volume past 25/100. Of course, keep in mind that it's a small bedroom and I'm usually 5-6 ft. away. As another reviewer suggested, check the "AI" audio sound settings. My TV actually came with the feature already turned off, so it might be that Panasonic has heard enough complaints about it. If you plan to put this in a big living room, then you MIGHT need some external speakers. But you should see how you like the sound first before buying any extra speakers.

The image quality on this set is pretty awesome. I have it hooked up to a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250HDC cable box and a PS3 with HDMI cables. Blu-Ray on the PS3 looks really good. Colors seems accurate and I have yet to see any hiccups. I've also streamed over 1080p videos from my Mac to my PS3 and it also looked great. The only thing that might be an issue is a bit of image blurring during sporting events. It's typically visible when players are moving, which causes things in the background (typically the crowd) to become blurry. Although most of your attention will be on the players, not the crowd, so it's not a huge deal.

Bottom line is that this TV is a wonderful entry level HDTV for the price being asked (about $450). If you're on the fence then get off of it and buy it. Read more reviews
"Best in Class for This Size and Price"

Review By B. V. Dam "van Dam California" (California, USA)

After tons of research I decided on this maker and model and I love this TV. I agree with other reviewers that the blacks are not as black as they could be but most LCD's in this size category have the same issue. It has not diminished my satisfaction.

PROS
Excellent picture quality
Vivid colors without being over saturated
No noticeable blurring or pixelation
Blue Ray Movies in 1080 look incredible
SUPER simple setup. When you first turn it on, it automatically guides you thru the setup...(no manual needed here)
We have basic cable and the autoscan found over 40 channels I never knew we had (music and HD)
Excellent on screen menus that make adjusting picture, sleep mode, etc. easy (within days you can access without even looking at the remote)
Everything on it feels solid, no jiggly buttons or inferior feel, even the remote is well made
Excellent styling. This unit is just nice to look at. Smooth lines, clean and modern.

CONS
Ability to produce deep blacks as stated above
Nearly all TV's regardless of what you spend have weak stock speakers so I rate sound as good but not great. Fine for TV, get external speakers for movies.

All in all this is high value: A great 32" 1080P LCD for under $500. All other models in the sub-$500/$400 category come with sacrifices (some serious). Read more reviews
