Apple MacBook Pro MD313LL/A Review, Pros and Cons – Must Read Before Buying!
Apple MacBook Pro MD313LL/A Review
Though one of the smaller sized MacBook Pro’s, the latest Apple MacBook Pro MD313LL/Astill packs a heck of a punch and at an affordable price. It has a 13.3 inch screen making it nice and compact, comes preloaded with OS X Lion, 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM, and with a dual-core Intel i5 processor it is significantly faster than its predecessors.
After having one of these for about a month now, workflow has definitely improved. There were actually a couple other models on sale at the store, but going with this one seemed the wiser choice as it appeared to have a better rating. Naturally, with a MacBook Pro you generally get what you expect, which is pure functionality, ease of use and intuitive design. The previous MacBook Pro in the office was a larger, older model from 2006 – it performed well and still works today, but it was about time for an upgrade as some of the software used for video and sound editing can be a bit intensive. Also, this time it seemed a good idea buy something a bit smaller and easy to carry around. The MD313LL/A has filled that void and then some.
Apple MacBook Pro MD313LL/A Pros and Cons
Here’s a short review of some of the pros and cons:
Pros:
- Compact and lightweight. This was an incredibly important deciding factor. The previous MacBook was fine, but just too darn big to lug about everywhere.
- Fast. Faster than any other MacBook used in the past. It handles highly intensive video processing and multi-track digital audio recording and playback with no difficulty whatsoever.
- Fast transfer speeds. This model utilizes Thunderbolt I/O technology which makes transferring of even the largest files almost instant. The transfer speeds that Thunderbolt allows for will save you a lot of time..
Cons:
- Small screen size. This isn’t so much a con as it is coming to terms with working on a smaller screen. Having grown accustomed to all that space, working with a 17 inch for so long, this will take a little getting used to.
As you can see, the pros far outweigh the cons with this machine. Obviously, if you’re going for a compact laptop you’re going to have to sacrifice a bit of screen size. At this point, everything is working perfectly. You’ll be able to process all of your video and audio files not only without errors, but much quicker than with previous models, and without having to worry about the machine overheating in the middle of night. The MacBook comes loaded with 4GB of SDRAM, which seems to be sufficient so far.
Overall, this is a very solid machine which does everything that a multimedia enthusiast or anyone who is constantly on the move could hope for. Versatile and durable are two words which come to mind. Check out the rest of the specifications to help guide your decision if you’re considering picking one up. After using this thing for a month now, there have been no problems whatsoever and it’s handled absolutely everything thrown at it. Recommended to professionals and casual users alike.
